Phoenix tops the list as usual, with over 300 days of sunshine a year and comfortable evenings once the summer heat breaks. Lisbon and Valencia carry the European end of the ranking, both averaging more than eight hours of sun a day through September.

Closer to home, Kelowna and Victoria quietly outperform most of the country through early fall — just don’t tell Halifax.
